Standards & Symbols

Standards play an important part in reducing uncertainties in the evaluation selection and use of ESD protection programs and products. Today in Europe , the operating standard is IEC 61340-Electrostatics , in USA a group of Users and vendors has developed an ESD association which has developed many standards. The current facility audit standard is S 20:20.

Consist of a Yellow Hand in the act of reaching deleted by a bar, all within a black triangle. It is intended to indentify devices and assemblies that are susceptible to ESD.

Consisting of a Yellow hand in the act of reaching all within the black triangle and inside an arc. It is intended to indentify ESD protective materials. This is a new symbol now included in IEC 61340-5-1.
